Privacy Policy

We only ask for what we need to give you an estimate. We do not sell your information.

Last updated October 27, 2026

Take The Floor is a hardwood flooring business based in Charlotte, NC. This policy covers takethefloor.us only. It does not cover what happens on a job site, by phone, or by text, though we treat that information with the same care.

What we collect

When you fill out the estimate form, you give us:

  • Your name and email address (required).
  • Your phone number, street address, and city (optional).
  • The service you need and anything you write in the message box.
  • Up to five photos of your floor, if you choose to add them.
  • Whether you asked us to follow up or to schedule a site visit.

Your browser shrinks each photo before it is sent. That also removes hidden data such as the GPS location the camera may have saved. Some formats, such as HEIC outside Safari, are sent as they are.

If you call, text, or email us, we keep what you tell us the same way. We also receive basic technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you open. We use a scrambled version of your IP address, not the address itself, to limit how many requests one visitor can send.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Review your project, prepare your estimate, and contact you about it.
  • Schedule and carry out a site visit or job.
  • Keep the website secure and block spam.
  • Understand how people use the site so we can improve it.

We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list. We email you only about your own request. The information you type into the estimate form is not sent to our advertising tools (see Cookies and analytics below).

Who handles it

We do not share your information with anyone who does not need it to run the site. These services process it for us:

  • A secure database provider stores your request and photos in a private database that only we can open.
  • An email delivery service sends the email that tells us a new request arrived.
  • Our hosting provider runs the website and sees visitor IP addresses as part of delivering pages.
  • Calendly handles scheduling if you choose “Schedule a Site Visit.” You leave our site and Calendly’s own privacy policy applies there.
  • Google provides Tag Manager, an embedded map, and the Google reviews shown on our site. Reviews are public, and they appear with the name the reviewer chose on Google.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. If the business is ever sold, customer records could move to the new owner.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses Google Tag Manager to run Google Analytics and Google Ads tags. These may set cookies and collect information such as pages viewed, device type, and approximate location. We use it to measure visits and our ads, and Google Ads may show our ads to people who visited this site before. Google Ads may also show a Google forwarding number in place of our phone number so we can tell which calls came from our ads; Google then receives basic call details such as the time, length, and caller’s area code, but not what is said. The embedded Google map may also set cookies when it loads.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works without them. To stop personalized ads, visit Google Ad Settings. To opt out of Google Analytics, use Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Learn more in how Google uses data from sites like this one.

How long we keep it

We keep your request, including photos, while we work on your estimate or project and for as long afterward as we need for our business records, warranties, and tax purposes. You can ask us to delete it sooner (see below). Rate-limit counters are temporary and clear themselves automatically.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do so unless we must keep it by law. This applies to everyone, wherever you live, including California residents and visitors from the EU or UK. Email johnprado@takethefloor.us or call (704) 246-9637. We aim to reply within 30 days.

We do not sell personal information. The Google Ads tags described above may count as “sharing” for advertising under some state laws; you can opt out with the Google links in the Cookies section or by emailing us. We do not use your information for automated decisions about you.

If you believe your information has been misused, you may also contact the North Carolina Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.

Children

This website is for homeowners and is not meant for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. If a child sent us something, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
